Among other things, summertime means swimsuits: buying them, wearing them, washing them, and hanging them up to dry. It’s this last step that I dread, because it’s all about negotiating prime shower-rod and doorknob real estate. I guess there’s no such space struggle for the privileged, who have laundry rooms and decks, and clothes-drying-areas galore. But if you’re like me, squatting in a 200-square-foot studio apartment with barely enough room to say boo, then you know all too well the angst of sparing just one extra hook, nook, or hanger.
But I recently solved this domestic dilemma during a trip to Ikea (where else?!). Please meet Jabba the Hanging Dryer.

She has 16 clothes clips, so you can load her up with other delicates, too. She smiles (you can’t see her face well in these shots, but trust me), and she can dangle in the smallest, most precarious spots -- even from a hanger swinging from my water pipe. And she was only seven bucks. In short, Jabba's my new best friend.

That's awesome! I must get one! I love that it's an octopus!

For anyone who does live with an IKEA within reach, you can maybe find a more utilitarian model at an Asian market (they don't have clothes dryers in Japan and have to hang everything to dry, including socks, and other undergarments, which this is great for). My sister gave me a couple when I started college.

This is a great solution - I have the same problem. IKEA has so many ingenious products for a great price! Thanks for sharing.....

My aunt gave me a less stylish of these and I had no idea what to do with it. It is great in a dorm room. The money you save on the coin dryer can go towards pizza and beer. :)
