I normally don't like to give overhyped bands and albums even more press. But I must make an exception and implore you to stop what you're doing and check out the latest Spoon album, Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga. No, that's not a misprint, that's five "Gas," said in quick succession.
Not only is this foursome from Austin one of the most inventive and talented American bands, the album is just plain fun. And isn't that what summer is (okay, should be) about? Whether you're heading out on the road, hanging at the lake, or just sitting in front of the AC, crank up tracks like "You Got Yr. Cherry Bomb" or "Eddie's Ragga," and enjoy.
Oh, and if anyone can decipher what the ominous sound at the end of "The Underdog" is ... let me know.

The new album is amazing...the title is unfortunate though.
