My friend Kathleen is one of the most fabulous ladies I know -- which is why I was so devastated when she moved across the country to Los Angeles six years ago. Now I have to soak up her fabulousness in concentrated doses when I visit. Last week I spent four days with her and managed to come away with a new favorite L.A. breakfast place (The Beverly Hills Hotel, ooh la la), a desperate craving for a Chinatown-issue Goyard tote (Kathleen bought two when she was in NYC a couple of weeks ago), and a fabulous haircut snipped by Beatrice Valenzuela, a very talented stylist and Kathleen's good friend.
I also brought back something for you. Here are some pictures of how Kathleen stores her jewelry:

The teapot is from a set that belonged to her late grandmother -- lucky Kathleen, they shared the same initials -- and the branches are from a local floral shop. And the jewelry? Kathleen’s own subtle, sophisticated, ethereal designs. I pretty much wear her creations exclusively. And so can you, if you check out her website. Because everyone needs something fabulous in her life.

this is a lovely idea! it's so much more interesting than a jewelry box - i made a similar composition out of a negelected vase and some branches i as soon as i read this post. (obviously, i don't agree that it's tacky : )

I have to agree with you about her jewelry- KHW's earrings and necklaces are so lovely, original and delicate- but they hold up and never fail to garner a compliment every time I wear them.

I think editors of major magazines should hesitate before proclaiming their intent to buy knockoffs. Your advertisers would probably be less than happy.

Wow - that is a fantastic idea! I have jewelry that I forget to wear b/c I don't "see" it regularly - what a great idea!

That's such a lovely idea! I love how organically the jewelry hangs off of the branches. Will have to keep this in mind for the future!

I am sorry, but unfortunately, that is tacky.
