It's a simple mathematical formula: The more pairs of shoes you buy, the greater your chances that one (or many, many more) of them will end up causing you blister-induced pain. (No, walking around the store three times won't necessarily tell you if that ankle strap is going to chafe, and lord knows looking at a picture on Zappos won't, either.) Until recently, that meant dutifully arming my delicate feet with Band-Aids or moleskin patches on any "problem shoe" day, but now, I have a better (and less visible) solution: the Blister-Block Stick.
It's almost like a slippery deodorant -- rub it into your feet, and shoes slide right over your skin. At $7 a pop, it probably lasts longer than the equivalent amount of bandages, and you never have to worry about sticky strips dangling off your big toe or ankle -- a look that I haven't yet managed to convince anyone is the new wave of grunge-chic. (Not that I've tried. Really.)

I am a big fan of this stuff. I have one stick in my purse and one at home.

wow, this is another great great tip! I usually have little blobs of moleskin here and there, but this seems a much nicer alternative.

I agree with Shannon- Body Glide is awesome. I've used it through training for two marathons, without a single blister. FWIW, you can use it along any other areas where you get seam-chafe (like jog-bra lines) for similar skin protection....

This is new to me, but perhaps similar to a trick that I learned from a dancer-friend -- Oragel. I carry it in my purse, and if my shoes start to rub, I slather some on, and it stops hurting, and I don't get a blister. It also helps to relieve pain if a blister has already formed. It is really amazing!

Does this stuff -really- work? I've seen the Band-Aid Brand variety in stores before but it seems a little too good to be true.

I want to know how much is used too. It seems to sort of work. I got mine at Walgreens, and i also saw a cheaper, similar product for runners at a sports store.

I hadn't been able to find this product, either, but I now use a different one: BodyGlide. It's marketed towards triathletes, and long-distance cyclists and runners. I get it in our local cycling shop. It's the best stuff ever - no more blisters.

I love this stuff! I tell everyone about it -a little like a crazy person... but really it works! I have blister-prone feet and this is the only thing that has ever allowed me to wear a new pair of shoes without evil blisters forming. I always have this in my bag now...just in case!

OK, I first saw this product recommended in May and checked every drug, discount, or grocery store I went into for the next 2 months. Nada. It's ridiculous to pay for shipping on such a small item...so where on earth are you guys finding this product in stores??

I bought one of these a couple of months ago and use a few times a week. I am now able to wear the multiple "pretty-but-they-hurt" pairs of shoes that fill my closet.

How much do you slather on? I'd read about the original (non Bandaid brand) version of this, used by runners, but had never ordered it. I bought the Bandaid one the minute I could find it in stores, but it doesn't seem to do much for me--maybe I need to slick on more of it?

I bought a stick of this and it is amazing! I keep one in every bag now. Even my husband uses it!
