Inheriting curly hair means building and maintaining an armory of curl-controlling products. I’ve tried substances from liquid to solid, with every possible texture in between. I’ve ruled out anything that leaves my hair sticky, and most gels and sprays with alcohol (they leave my hair dry and scuzzy). I will try anything once unless it smells funny, because my hair holds onto scent like Wilson Phillips held on for one more day. Sometimes I reach for the mousse, sometimes the gel, and sometimes I reach for a few things hoping to stumble on a scientific formula for luscious locks. I’ve narrowed it down to a few tried-and-true potions like the shaping milk, mousse, and heat tamer spray from TRESemmé and the curl shaper from Pantene. After several experimentations and variations in procedure (different times of day, blow-dried versus air-dried, sleeping in an oh-so-chic silk cap) I have a new product to add to the arsenal.

Miss Jessie’s Unscented Curly Pudding -- the scented one is a bit too grape-flavored Pez smelling for my taste -- comes in super-cute packaging and works wonders. A healthy dollop gave me bouncy, minimally crunchy curls that I couldn’t stop playing with. There wasn’t a stringy strand in sight, only natural-looking spirals with plenty of life. My quest for the holy grail of curl control continues, and I’ll still dip into old standbys, but for now, I’d like to thank Miss Jessie for a November of good hair.

Cant wait to check this out. I have been using Inky Loves Nature products and love them! but have been looking for a back up, nice to know about this product.

I'll also try this. I have had luck with : Davines Love Shampoo and Conditioner. Especially the conditioner, at least 2 of my other friends use it.

I have tried so many different products for curly hair and Bumble and Bumble Curl Creme is by far the best. It smells really clean and leaves your hair soft and bouncy with absolutely no crunchiness.

Late to the game but I couldn't help but comment because the bit about the oh so chic silk cap made me laugh out loud. I'll just say that I've been there and done that.
I'll be sure to look for this product. I've also had some success using Be Curly by Aveda.

This is all fantastic. I can't wait to try it. My hair is always in a ponytail lately because I can't figure it out anymore--just a crazy mess of frizz. I'm totally trying the twist tomorrow and getting the pudding soon! Product reviews are great! Thanks.

Oh I can definitel;y relate to this. I am a "twister". Meaning I actually have to twist my curls together while they are wet and then just before they are dry I scrunch em a LOT and then a tiny shot of blow dry to get the (old school) drew Berrymore curls. (like when she flashed Letterman) Anyhow. My current favorite is from Bumble and Bumble. It's a pot-o-goop called SUMOtech. So many of the thicker products that really work cause build up and can even further dry out or oil up my hair. But this stuff is Gooood. Also used Sebastian's styling creams and they worked for many years for me. I will definitly check out your tip.
Curly girls have to stick together. it's work!
BTW- if you don't twist yet you have to try it. it will change your hair life. (just be sure to scrunch it up and then seperate it once it dries.)
