White Forest Pottery

Blueprint's contributing style editor, Scott Horne, recently received this exquisite porcelain bowl with a gold wire rim and has since become enamored with the all of White Forest pottery, handmade by Nancy Bauch.

The Zenlike beauty of each object makes us want to immediately take up pottery -- with results this serene, surely the process must also be meditative. Scott wanted to point out the net-covered "woven rock," the forest bells -- a welcome alternative to tinny wind chimes, and the nested rose bowls (which resemble the inner folds of the flower).

I love how the gold weave bowl looks so delicate. Great use of mixed media.

Is it overly dramatic to say that these pieces are so beautiful that they sort of made my heart ache? Fabulous post, I am completely enamored.
