Sometimes even a giant mug of coffee is not enough to bring me out of my 4 o'clock slump. When caffeine and sugar fail me, I turn to visual stimulants. I have two pick-me-ups: I Heart Photograph and Any Given Name. Both sites are like virtual galleries that post amazing artwork (photography, design, sculpture, etc.) by artists large and small, from all over the world. Despite how long I stare at a computer screen everyday, taking a break to look at some art makes me feel rejuvenated. Whether it's the artist's wit, his impressive eye for composition and color, or the piece's subject matter, I always come away feeling inspired.
