My mom has a thing for elephants. You can find them tucked in all over the living room shelves and assorted other places in the house. For Mother's Day, I thought it was high time she have an elephant she could take with her on the go.

They have the cutest enamel jewelry at J. Crew this season. I recently spotted this elephant necklace so that now she doesn't have to look further than her neck to see a familiar friend.

I'm totally obsessed with elephants too. In Italian culture, they bring good luck!

Growing up, reading was a big deal in my family. One of the gifts I'm planning to give my mom this year is a book by one of her favorite authors & a framed photo of her reading to my brother and me.

Of course, I love the elephant necklace too... maybe we don't need to limit our gifts to just this Sunday?

Habitat for Humanity has a new line of stuffed animals in their online store www.habitatstoreonline.com commemorating different countries they work in. The first one is an elephant commemorating work in Ghana. I have one and he's adorable. I thought it was funny that he came shipped in a box that he JUST fit into. They are only selling 1000 (they are numbered) and I have number 500-something. So, don't wait!
