With a heavy blog heart, we are saying goodbye today.
Bluelines is shutting down, but will remain here as an archive.
We want every reader to know that we have been thrilled to share with you all of the things we've loved,
things we've obsessed over,
and things that have inspired us in every way.
We hope you will stay in touch with us through our own blogs and sites.
Much love and best wishes to all.

I was literally writing my check for a subscription to Blueprint when a co-worker at the bookstore where I am employed informed me that the magazine was no more. And now it is clear to me that the blog was just a step in phasing out Blueprint completely.
I have canceled my subscription to Martha Stewart Living. I'm 24 and a renter, and it says so little to me about how I can live my life and make my apartment a home.

Martha? What the hell is wrong with you? Do you honestly think Blueprint's demographic will EVER buy your magazines? Blueprint represented your tie in to our generation and you killed it to maintain your image. Good luck to your business ventures when the baby boomers are gone.

I guess I'm a little late in finding out that Bluelines is over. As much as I appreciate the effort that was put into Bluelines, it just couldn't compare to Blueprint. From time to time I find myself in the store looking for a decent magazine to buy. I page through a few and half-heartedly pick out something that will just have to make do. Blueprint was the only magazine to ever fit my lifestyle. Am I a part of a small demographic that advertisers don't want to tap into? I guess I don't fully understand the cause of Blueprint's demise.
Best wishes to all of Blueprint's and Blueline's past contributors!

Well, I can't say I didn't see this coming. LOVED the magazine (read and re-read constantly!), didn't like the blog. A bit dull and too, "Oooh, look what I'm doing in NYC!" and "Oooh, look at these $500 jeans!". Also was constantly irritated by ads.
Hope the fab group of people from the mag find another print venue! Thanks for the great magazines! Best wishes!

The magazine was...okay. This blog was...crap. The posts were dull and pointless and the bloggers were pretentious losers. The whole thing was a scar on Martha's empire of perfection and class. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Is there anything we can do? I loved your magazine and blog and I'm so sad to see you go. I took the end of the magazine with a heavy heart and this just doubles it. I wish you all well and please do let us know if there is some place we can go to share ideas.

Are you friggin' kidding me??? Seriously? First the magazine ends -devastating us, and I thought "well OK, fine, I'll read the blog"...AND NOW THIS??
Anyone have suggestions for another place we can congregate?

HOW can this be? And just so soon after I discovered you. You guys were the greatest. Best of luck to the contributors.

Okay now, this is serious! Where and when will such a creative group be given a space in which to play -- and let us in on it? PLEASE come up with another endeavor that we can be drawn into - the ideas, wit, opinions of Blueprint will be SORELY mission. RIP.

Oh, no! Blueprint magazine was my favorite magazine ever, and now I feel like it's really and truly gone. Best of luck to all the contributors.

So sad that we lost one of the best magazines on the market, it truly put Domino to shame.
The writers/designers/directors and editors truly had a pool of talent which I hope can go towards something equally as inspiring and not helping martha tend to one of her houses. Sigh.

This is really a grave situation. Please bring the magazine back. There is nothing to fill the void!

Just wanted to weigh in with some similar sentiment and a question. The magazine was the best and I miss it immensely as well. But can anyone suggest any combination of OTHER magazines, websites or blogs they are reading to help fill the void? Once in a while I'll read Real Simple, InStyle or Domino, and blogs Crafty Chica and ReadyMade. But so far nothing has inspired me or thrilled me the way Blueprint the magazine did...

To repeat what everyone else is saying, I am deeply saddened to see Bluelines go, just as I was traumatized when Blueprint ceased publication. I was a subscriber from the first issue to the last, and I relished the day that the new copy would come in the mail. I forced myself to not look through every page right away, but to savor every article and picture so that I could stretch out the bliss of reading and absorbing each new page for as long as possible. This probably all sounds rather over-dramatic and obsessive, but I have never found a magazine that excited me as much as Blueprint, and I don't think I ever will. You are sorely missed, and mourned by many.

I have never LOVED a magazine as much as Blueprint! It was the first mag that each page I turned was as exciting as the last. I savored every inch!! I discovered it last summer on the beach and the combination of the amazing magazine and the waves and sunset and ocean breeze will forever be etched in my mind! One of those great days!! I rushed home that evening and ordered the magazine!
Then one day Martha Stewart living arrived instead of my beloved Blueprint. What?? Then I realized the terrible truth and sadly accepted it was gone.
Today...months after my last issue arrived, I took out my past copies to re-read and fell in love again! Then, I remembered that there was an online component to the mag that I hadn't yet checked out. So I come here today to find that just last week, this has gone away too.
It's a sad summer. Today I put two old issues in my beachbag for tomorrow. Not as much fun to re-read, but...maybe there's something I missed....
...please come back Blueprint!!

oh this is sad. my magazines are falling apart.
Posted by: Kristin | Sunday, July 27, 2008 at 01:12 AM
I have to say... such a BRILLIANT group of people is completely wasted in the Martha realm anyways. While it is sad to say goodbye to the final dregs of the Blueprint fabulousness, it must really suck to be strapped down to a sinking ship. I say go and collaborate with another group (although nobody springs to mind that could equal what you were doing...) because this world needs you. I haven't picked up a magazine in years that satisfied my insatiable quest for things-that-are-pretty-without-the-sachrine the way you people did. Happy trails to you all and thanks for all the fish. You rocked.
Namaste

Blueprint blog felt like they were just half-heartedly sprinkling us with occasional posts that felt like "pitty sex" to pacify, that's just how it made me feel. The blog never compared to the awesomeness that was Blueprint magazine.
The damage was done when Blueprint mag vanished and was replaced with a big, fat issue of Martha Stewart Weddings which is nothing more than 500 pages of ads and maybe 5 pages of actual content. Gross. I had to play tug of war with my mailbox just to get the damn thing OUTTA THERE. What a waste of paper. I cancelled it immediately.
I asked the MSL customer service people if they could replace the wedding crap with their tiny little Everyday Food magazine and they denied my request. Did they even give me a refund? NO.
Blueprint employees, I love you, but please, go, run free. Maybe go hang out with the former employees of Sassy (remember Sassy?) or maybe Domino magazine and go create the most awesome fusion magazine EVER.
R.I.P. Blueprint Blog....thanks for the pitty sex.

Farewell, Bluelines. So sad to see you go.
Please bring back Blueprint! I saved all my issues and recently revisited them. I really loved that magazine.
Sigh.

This does suck, but the writers/contributors to this blog are busy creative people. Just wanted to say thanks for trying with the blog for us blueprint fans!
