My dad's a steak man. Comes from raising cattle :) Nothing like a steak on the grill that you raised yourself. Some corn, baked potatoes -- mmm what a feast. The best part about father's day, though, has to be seeing dad enjoying having a day just about him.

It's Fathers Day -- JP's allowed to dream that he can play with the best of them and that one day he too might be on the teli playing in the US Open also. Don't make him do a thing this Sunday as he's been working really, really hard in the office and, like the rest of us fathers, deserves one day off every year.

I agree with Alison, by the way -- nothing like a good steak fresh off the barbi, with baked potato and corn (licking my chops just thinking about it - hoping my wife reads this blog!).

Nice shot of Eddie, also - congrats!

cutie! is that your son?

I loooove skirt steak and it's just so incredibly flavorful grilled. But I can't believe how expensive the cut is at our market in Sarasota FL. $8.99 a pound!

I wish my hubby would eat a steak! He's become a fanatic about food these last few years and won't eat anything but fish or poultry. (Not that it stops me from grilling up a nice steak for the rest of the family ;-)

Steamy, yup that's the caboose nearly as yummy as the sandwiches, which husband loved. Recipe was spot on but I didn't put quite enough cheese and arugula on each serving. The ribeye--here in Westchester $15+--was superpricey but it went far (I scaled back recipe for 4 'sted of 8) with thin slices. Looks like food prices continue to be on the rise. Any thrifty ideas you'd like to see from us?

Liz, Steak is a nice treat but nutritionally it sounds like your guy has the right idea. What kind of fish do you cook and how?
