Yesterday afternoon my friend Martha and I headed over to Sirius radio Sirius radio, where we sat and chatted in the "fishbowl," a glass-walled studio with a live audience.
There was a party going on there and the mouthwatering pulled pork sliders (oh, baby), stuffed tomatoes, and Caribbean chicken skewers being passed around made it tough to concentrate! We took calls from listeners and talked about the new grilling issue of Everyday Food.
I also told her about what I cook for my family on weeknights -- my wife says, "I'm a good cook, but why should I have to?" I love to make simple roast chicken, and we eat a lot of fish -- whatever's freshest at the market, but my son EJ likes red snapper. I'm all about organic right now since I'm taping my new show, Emeril Green and I incorporate lots of fresh veggies in my cooking. That's what summer's all about, along with good food on the grill, so I shared the barbecue sauce I use on my ribs. Try it, look out for my new column next week, and let me know what you want to see in Kick It Up.

Sandy and I had a great time listening to Martha and Emeril (Martha describing making homemade root beer and Emeril describing reducing it for a glaze were highlights) but I especially liked catching up with Maxwell and Chris from Apartment Therapy, supergood guys who are supersmart, too.
