There's no question -- summer is burger season. By now, I've had more than my share: stuffed with cheese at a Brooklyn neighborhood joint, topped with bacon on my friend's roof, paired with a chocolate malt at suburban burger stands. I'm ready for a little change of pace.
Enter the chicken burger.
I've always been a fan of chicken burgers (my grandmother makes a great version) and the Indian spices make this one taste even meatier. I like it tucked into a whole-wheat pita, but like Regan, our online editor, I prefer the yogurt sauce with cilantro and lemon instead of cumin. But that's the beauty of this recipe -- it's easy to switch up the spices in the burgers, or the seasonings in the sauce.
After all, summer is all about liberation, right?

Such a great idea to lighten up the burger w/chicken. Could do this with a mango chutney too!
