Greek Getaway

Vacations may sometimes be a break from work, but they are never a break from learning. On my recent trip to the Greek islands, I was lucky enough to be joined by my friend Carlos Picon, the curator overseeing the department of Greek and Roman art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. His scholarly interjections brought every statue and every ruin to life. Back in New York, the art history lessons continued when he invited me to see the museum’s exquisitely redesigned Greek and Roman galleries. If you’ve ever sought a reason to come to Manhattan, this is it: With some 5,300 works in 57,000 square feet of exhibition space, this is a near-complete lesson in classical art.

so few boats in the harbor but for the luxurious looking yacht. The weather appears a bit chilly as I suppose there is a breeze

what time of year was this?

But a magazine shoot finds you up out of bed early in the day to get the most interesting light without the harsh shadows of mid day but then depending of the time of year and where the sun hangs in the horizon ..... you call this a vacation but you are posting on your commercial web sight come on now was it really a vacation?

Martha when we never hear about where you go then it is a vacation honestly you need a getaway and those lovely dinner parties are key keep having dinner parties because then those that are in your company have been magically transported to a place via the experience that they will most surely treasure

I missed these pictures the first time around! What beautiful scenery with the hillside home/structure, the yacht near shore and the stone wall looks similar to one you built yourself in that house you renovated or as I like to say, "Turned into a castle."

You are dressed warmly but the water sure looks inviting. If I happen to get to New York one day, I will most surely visit the Greek section at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Dear Martha, I am renting a one bedroom apt in The Bronx. I have been here for three and a half years intending to stay longer. I desperately need a Feng Shui makeover. I have a great space with great panoramic views of The Palisades from my Living Room. I am bored with the colors on my walls. I attempted to implement the colors suggested by an interpretation of my Feng Shui colors but the person who mixed the colors gave me the wrong color pigments for my bathroom. If you walk into my bathroom you'd think a can of liquid chocolate exploded onto my walls. Can you do a segment on Feng Shui implementation on apt living? Looking forward to watching it. Sincerely, The Bronx

Next time you are in Greece you must visit Corfu. It's gorgeous!!! and different from the rest of Greece. Let me know and I'll take you to all the spots Corfiots eat at.
