A peek at some of my Christmas décor

I know you all want a peek at my holiday decorations and I would love to share them with you at this time.  However, as I have announced, I am working on a brand new Entertaining book and I have plans to feature my Christmas décor in that publication, so I don’t want to give too much away right now.  But, here’s a glimpse.

Look at what my beautiful copper eagle swooped down and captured

Serving fish on Christmas Eve is traditional in some cultures, here is a lovely scaled fish ornament reminding us of that

Blown glass really captures the essence of Christmas spirit - I love the pearly garlands too. Thank you! for sharing them!

So lovely, Martha.
Thanks for the inspiration!
Kathy

Interesting Christmas ornaments as well as how you display them.

Dear Martha,

Thank you so very much for kindly sharing with us a "peek" of your holiday decorations! I can only "imagine" how beautifully decorated your homes (both in Bedford and here in Maine) are and anxiously look forward to the highly anticipated release of your brand new "Entertaining" book!!

Knowing how creatively informative and useful the textual concept, content and design is, and how stunningly beautiful the photographs are in each and every "Martha Stewart Living" magazine issue, I'm certain that your next "Entertaining" book will become yet another "National Treasure" (as you certainly have become to us)! Take care and have a wonderful holiday!

Cheers,
Bill

PS A few years ago I was fortunate to have acquired and purchased a signed, First Edition copy of your first "Entertaining" book in which you personally inscribed and signed (at Hunter's) "Be Entertaining Always - Martha Stewart." During your recent MARTHA - 25th Anniversary (of "Entertaining") show, I was watching (with my own copy in hand). Please kindly extend my personal thanks and gratitude to your entire staff at MSLO for all the "Good Things" and "Inspiration Delivered Daily" that you continuously bring into our lives!

Martha, thanks for sharing a glimpse of your holiday decor - it is stunning! I can't wait to see more in the new Entertaining book. Happy Holidays!

Martha,

Are those K Mart ornaments I see? Excellent!!!I have some of the red tear dropped shapped ones. Thanks for the peak. I am enjoying your feather trees from Macy's. Everyone loves the white one which I filled with ornaments from your old catalog and K Mart. The photo of the feather trees at Macys.com are of the shorter tree. I took a chance on the 36" and it was worth the surprise.
Happy Holidays

I like the pine cone ornaments with the green on the bottom. Macy's? I look forward to the new book too; I'm guessing it will include a fantastic fish dish. Thanks for the glimpse; you gave me some ideas! Trish

Wow Martha what beautiful things and ways of decorating. Thanks for sharing your decorations with us all

I love all the different uses you've come up with for the cake dome! What's in store for Valentine's Day?? I can envision gorgeous pink & brown, or red and white cookies. Or perhaps glittery hearts under the glass for everyone to admire.

The pictures you are sharing are the best. The items in the photos seems so wanting the light to shine through. It is not the value of the things but the joy they are creating with the light making everything brighter and more cheerful.

OHhhhhhh..........to be Martha!!!
As always, unbelievable beauty...

I especially love your copper eagle! I have what I call 'Eagle Tree' where our whistling eagles perch in mating season. I love capturing photo's of them while adding to my love of eagles.

Many years ago I had the joy of seeing you & Julia Child in Santa Barbara. I have your first 'Entertainment' I so love & can't wait for your new..Martha!!!

Thanks for a special holiday peek.
Bestest of holidays!!

What fabulous inspiration! I can't wait to fill my cake dome with loveley ornaments.

Beautiful decorations Martha! Thank you for sharing those with us. Only last night, I was up until 1 a.m. decorating my twin ivory colored feather tabletop trees with vintage aqua, green, and silver ornaments. Each year I never fail to surprise myself at how beautiful these little treasures are as they are unwrapped and ready to be hung on the trees. I've collected some wonderful geometric shapes and spheres, pine cones, grapes, strings of mercury glass balls... oh the list goes on and on. I was having so much fun readying the trees, I barely noticed the time go by!

Last weekend, we visited a nice little town called Sebastopol and cut our own tree at a family run farm (Frosty Mountain Tree Farm). The unique thing about this year's evergreen was the fact that it was loaded with pine cones from the tip to the base. That was all I needed for some decorating inspiration. The tree was simply too beautiful to add my usual collection of antique glass ornaments. Instead, I added tiny white lights and grosgrain ribbon bows in a beautiful basil color. So simple and just the prefect amount of decoration.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2008.

Hi Martha, Thank you for the glimpse of your beautiful holiday decorations. I am just watching your TV show and saw this blog at the beginning. Don't you just love technology! Can't wait until your new Entertaing book comes out. Maybe you will come to the Seattle area to promote it and I can finally meet you. I can always hope! Jan

Hi Martha,
I love silver for the holidays...it reminds me of the snow and lovely winter nights here in the Midwest. Perfect! Thanks for sharing.
Jenny

How beautiful! It all has a quiet, wintry beauty and I can't wait to see the "full peek" in your new book. Thanks!

Martha,
I can't wait to see more of your decor. Thank you for sharing it.

What absolutely beautiful decorating; I love it all. I'm going feature Martha on my blog!! Merry Christmas, Theresa

It's lovely seeing the older ornaments. My sisters and I still cherish our flannel stockings adorned with our names in beads, sequins and glitter. My mom made them when we were babies and they still bring back such good loving feeling and memories of my mom and dad.
My favorite ornament is a small, plastic manger which has the Holy Family and through the back of it the tiny Star of Bethlehem is cut out such that all light pours through it. At the time it must have cost a dime but the feelings it evokes are priceless. Always love your stuff Martha, and the way it's done is always stunning!
Happy Holidays...Peace!

Holiday decor at its' finest. I cannot wait for your new book! Thank you for allowing us to peek inside your beautiful home Martha, you are an inspiration!
