Myong, great healthy food near my house!
Last week I told you about Momofuku, one of my favorite “fast food” restaurants in Manhattan and now I want to tell you about another establishment that serves healthy and “fast food” near my home in Bedford. Myong www.plgourmet.com, located at 360 N. Bedford Rd. Mt. Kisco, NY, is owned and operated by Myong Feiner, who immigrated to this country from South Korea. Myong’s shop is impeccably clean and elegant looking, and from this place, she is living her dream of serving healthy and delicious foods, many with a refreshing and unique, Asian flare. Myong loves to experiment with spices and different flavor combinations and she has created a wonderful menu of original salads, soups, and wraps. Her bakery department offers an extensive array of tasty, organic baked goods and also has a good selection of gluten-free. Myong’s own private label includes custom blended coffees, signature teas, sauces, and other items. Her philosophy is simple – a product can only be as good as the ingredients that go into it and she takes pride in using only the highest quality, as well as purified water from a sophisticated filtration system. Myong’s business also includes a busy catering concern and she’s delighted to prepare and serve her lovely and delicious food at parties and other events.
This is Myong who always has time for her customers.

Martha:)
The food looks so delicious. The tuna is to die for and the chicken salad look absolutely heavenly. Once again you have given us not only beautiful pictures but something to awaken our senses and start looking around in our own neighborhoods for a place the serve food as divine as this.
Thank You

Hello Martha. The spice encrusted tuna looks beautiful. I serve something a little similar at Christmas as a starter - tuna that has been ever so slightly seared on the outside and served on a platter alongside light soy, fresh wasabi and cucumber spears. Speaking of delicious food I'm off to France and Italy for 7 weeks holiday and very much look forward to the excellent food I will be experiencing over there. Such a shame to miss cupcake week but Europe can't wait! Au revoir!

Hi, Martha,
Myong's food does look tasty. Thanks for the glimpse into her world of flavor.
Over the weekend, I tried the recipes of Eric Ripert and Daniel Boulud. These were just as good as those I tried of Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Both Ripert's Braised Halibut with Peas and Boulud's Saumon Marchand de Vin were excellent. My friends agreed that the food of all three French chefs were winners.

How nice to have Myong's place near to where you live, Her food looks delicious and her Asian flare is a great asset for her establishment. All her wraps and baked items look great for a takeout. Nan

I checked out the cafe menu already and went gaga over the selection! Everything looks so colorful and healthy and different from what I'm used to eating. Now why can't there be a restaurant like that near where I live! Do you think Myong would come on your show and maybe share 5 of her recipes? It doesn't hurt to ask! Trish

Hi Martha, Oh boy, all the food at Myong's looked delicious.
I particularly like chicken salad, but anything she makes looks beautiful.
A lot of people in USA don't know if they want to try this kind of food, I say "try it you will like it".Thanks again for your wonderful blog.

Hi Martha-
I've recently altered my diet by trying to eat healthier and live a more active lifestyle. I'm currently test-driving new organic meals and recipes. I was wondering if you had any recipes or suggestions for an awesome organic cupcake or a desert???
-Thank you in advance

Oh, how wonderful! I am planning a visit to Westchester on Wednesday & Thursday, and I will make CERTAIN to stop by for a treat! I suppose I will have to just deal with my mouth watering until then!
Thanks!

Martha, I am reading the comments that have been posted this afternoon. I agree with Trish, you should have Myong on your show.
That would be interesting to watch her prepare her wonderful dishes.
Thanks so much.

As a frequent patron of Myong's I am delighted to see your write up, and I'd llike to add that Myong's food is even better than it looks. Myong's is a great place to provide healthy meals and snacks for the entire family. My children, ages 4, 4 and 6 delight in her skirt steak, her tuna, her rice noodle salad, and her haricot verts, which they of course follow with fresh fruit & yogurt smoothies and organic oatmeal chocolate chip cookies or wonderful organic muffins in unusual flavor combinations. I always feel great about the high nutritional value and sophisticated taste sensations of a special trip to Myong's.

Martha:
I was really pleased to see your endorsement of Myong on today's blog. Just last Friday, 3/28, in my comment to your blog on the 3 French Chefs show, I suggested that you might consider featuring some of the great restaurants and places of interest in the Bedford/Katonah area, such as La Cremaillere and Bedford Village Pastry on your show. Boy that was quick! I'll have to get to Myong for lunch someday soon. The photos are fantastic and the menu on their website looks innovative and delicious.
I especially like that some of their items have an emphasis on "gluten-free". I usually bring dessert to our family get togethers. My brother has a gluten allergy and sometimes it's difficult to come up with something he can eat that appeals to everyone else, as well. Would you consider having a show in the future centered around delicious gluten-free dishes/desserts? Maybe Myong could be a guest!

Martha...what a lovely establishment Myong is! The food looks utterly fresh and beautifully presented and Myong herself is lovely looking.
Don't you love having a great little place in your neighbourhood? As a 'foodie' i am always searching out places and if they are nearby so much the better!

Dear Martha,
Thank you so much for this little introduction to Myong! As a Chappaqua resident I spend a good amount of time in Mt. Kisco and pass Myong often as I do my daily errands. I have never taken the time to stop in, but after hearing that it receives your stamp of approval I will definitely have to make a point to do just that!
Thanks again for continuing to share "good things" with us.
My Best Regards,
CLS

These are so yummy. If only I had this kind of high quality cosy eateries near my home or office!
I enjoyed The Martha Stewart Show on tv which I find so refreshing & a mood-booaster even though I had only watched it a few times so far as it is shown only on weekday mornings over at my side & I would be at work at those hours!

Hi,
Just wondering where Kathy lives? She sounds very well traveled and seems to have a lot in common with Martha. And she is very responsive to all of the blog entries. I also enjoy Martha's blog.
Thank you!

I love reading your blogs, they always start my day out positive about something. I have a 19 yr. old daughter who is trying to earn her way to go to The Pennsylvania Culinary Institute, her dream to open her own bakery. My question is ,her 20th birthday is coming and what would you recommend giving her as a starter gift towards baking?
Thank you
