Fun photos of my pets!
I get so many requests from viewers and readers who want to see more pictures of my pets. Well, I recently had so much fun taking pictures of Sharkey and Francesca hard at play. They have amazing energy levels and when they feel like running – watch out! Paw Paw just shakes his head and moseys along. And thank you for everyone’s concern regarding Paw Paw and his renal condition. After Dr. Marty’s latest treatment, my lovely chow chow seems so much happier. I’m sure he’ll be even more comfortable with the onset of warmer weather, which helps his joints to move better. There is even a photo of a surprise dogg, as well!
Francesca and
Sharkey are really playing at fighting. They can look so menacing.
"Please, let me in! I want a treat!"
Nap time for Sharkey
Enjoying a comfy place on top the hay in a planter
I just couldn't leave out Paw Paw!
The Dogg (that's how he spells it!) I hung out with the other day backstage at Letterman, my pal Snoop.

What personalities of these three human canines. They are so funny. Francesca and Sharkey are the cutest dogs around, and Papa just patiently puts up with their frolicking. He deserves extra treats. Nan

Your pups are just darling! (Oh, and I had to stifle a giggle at the site of "The Dogg!")
Pets are so calming, and isn't amazing at how they just beckon to be photographed! I couldn't resist creating a painting for my daughter(days before she was born) of our charming calico cat! There kitty hangs on her wall, paws crossed, posed with a smile!
Thanks for the glimpse of your furry family!

Hi, Martha,
What wonderful photos of Paw Paw, Francesca, and Sharkey---as well as you and The Dogg! Thanks for posting them. I was happy to hear an update on Paw Paw's progess. I'm glad he's doing better. Francesca and Sharkey certainly do enjoy playing together. They remind me of my younger dog and a friend's dog running around together growling and baring teeth in play while my older dog just gives them a look. Wonderful photos!

Martha, I love that you take so many photos of your dogs. Animals are so much more fun than most people, right? We have ten cats and they are more fun to be around than 99% of everyone we know. Love your blog and love your books!!

I love your blog, I just wish you would bring your products over to the UK!

Again, I love seeing photos of your Frenchies! My French Bulldog Pipi also likes to fly. I have a large rose arbor over a stone path and Pipi will run circles around the arbor and fly above the stone path when she reaches it. She actually comes and gets me so I can chase her around the arbor. Continue to post photos of your dogs!

Thanks so much for taking the time to show us your pets in action. It is so nice to just see animals and people enjoying the simple pleasures of playing. I guess I must as well include the thrill of treats in that catagory. Thanks again.

Martha,
I am constantly taking pictures of my dog also, it is so much fun! I almost fell out of my chair laughing when I saw Francesca flying through the air like that! They are so cute and active! Paw Paw looks adorable too. Thanks for sharing, I love the pet and gardening pictures! This is my favorite blog!

Aww, your dogs do look like beings from another world! :) Isn't it wonderful how dogs can be so cute and alien-like? I love their names! Thank you for sharing the fabulous pictures of them :D

Well, my day is complete! I love seeing your pets and I'm so happy to hear that Paw Paw is doing well. He is so handsome and he makes me smile the way he just lumbers along doing his own thing. We used to have a white poodle that flew through the air like Sharkey when he ran. I nicknamed him 'rabbit'. Thanks Martha and Laura. Trish

Hi Martha, AH, if these aren't the most precious, beautiful, well taken care of pets I've ever seen, I'll eat my hat!! I still love Paw Paw the most, but the girls are really adorable, too! Thanks for bringing a "wee bit of fun" into our lives. Happy St. Patrick's Day to all. Glad Paw Paw is doing better. Jan

Happy St. Patrick's Day, Martha! Thanks for these great photos.
I enjoyed your comments on the show today with Glenn Close about putting Francesca and Sharkey on 'time out' when the get a little out of control with each other. Pedestals serve all kinds of purposes!
I think Glenn and her husband are dong amazing work through their site fetchdog.com.

Greetings Martha!
I did not know anything about renal condition until recently when a former General Hospital actress, Shell Kepler, died from renal failure on Feb. 1st, 2008 ...
http://cbs2.com/entertainment/Amy.Vining.Shell.2.646527.html
Paw Paw was on the verge of serious problems and his progress sounds very good.
On a lighter note: the photo with Sharkey and Francesca laying on the hay brought back a warming memory of a hayride with my husband and children many years ago on a very cold Halloween evening. The hay kept us very warm by using our body heat.
And love the photo with Snoop Dogg!!
Great photos!!

Hi Martha,
The photos of your dogs are marvelous! Those faces are so cute they can melt any heart, and they have positively melted mine!
This is the first time I've noticed that Francesca has some brindle coloring in her fur. How cool, it makes her even more special.
I love animals. . . don't tell anyone. . . but sometimes I like them more than people.
Life is most definitely better with pets. There is nothing more joyous than the eruption of unconditional love which greets you when you open the door!
Oh, by the way, you looked absolutely stunning on David Letterman.

Martha, I know you are a very busy woman, but if by some crazy reason you should want to see twins of Francesca and Sharkey, my Frenchies Dexter and Sadie are dead ringers!!!
They are constant guest stars on my garden blog ... Dexter is 7yrs old and once I fell for him, I knew I was hooked on Frenchies for good.
Your Girls are adorable! Can't you just watch them frolick all day long?

Hi Martha,
Im such a big fan of yours and I enjoy my "me time" everyday with a hot pot of coffee and watching your show (and of course,my beagle Getty) curled up at my side.
I enjoy your sense of humor with your animals... they are adorable! My Getty is much more like Paw Paw and just can't be bothered with the silly neighborhood dogs ... she would rather just love and lick us to death!
Thanks for sharing your "babies" with us!

What beautiful babies. Sharkey and Francesca are little imps. They are like two babies that can't get enough playing. Then there's lovely, elegant Paw Paw.He reminds me of an older gentleman on his way to his club. The girls are 2 schoolgirls just out for the week-end. I love them all. Thanks for sharing.

Martha, your dogs are absolutely adorable. You take great images of them, and it appears you have captured their true spirit. Thank you for sharing them with us. I have two orange tabbies (or as they say in UK, marmalade shorthairs), and it takes a lot of work to take photos of them that bring out their gentle nature. Cats are difficult to photograph.

You look so cool hanging out with Snoop Dogg! The pictures of the pups are cute too! I spent the weekend at the Chicagoland Family Pet Expo in Arlington Heights, IL. There were so many interesting breeds and wonderful pet products. I'm thinking about adding another furry member to the family!

Hi Martha, I love the pictures of the dogs. I love taking pictures of my dog Samantha, a 6 year old Shih Tzu. What joy dogs bring to a weary world. I have never written to you before, but have been a fan from your first books. I am a Culinary Instructor at a High School in Philadelphia, a Pastry Chef and Artisan Bread Baker. In the 90's had a catering business in Bucks County and your books came in really handy. You have impeccable taste and I admire your spirit. I actually thought of you the other day when I was reading about Waldoboro, ME. They are conducting a feasability study for a Farm-To-Table Center for Culinary Arts Education and Entrepreneurship. I thought the idea was fantastic and I wanted to pass the the information on to you in case you wanted to get involved somehow, you know in your spare time. Lol. They do so much in Maine to educate children about healthy eating. I have wanted to move to Maine for years, I have been scanning web sites for culinary instructor openings or any other opportunity. Waldoboro would be a great place to be especially since it is so close to Primo Restaurant. Maybe if they open a culinary school In Waldoboro, I could work there. I would be so happy if I could raise my daughter in Maine. I don't know if this is the right forum to catch your eye, but I thought I would give it a try. If you ever need a hard working, dog loving, Maine loving employee just let me know.

All of your dogs are precious, but I always love looking at pictures of Paw Paw. I have a Chow/Australian Shephered mix. Whenever you talk about Paw Paw and his personality/traits, it's just like you are describing my Smokey! I've learned a lot about Chow Chows from you on your show.

Always a pleasure and a treat when you feature The Three Musketeers Martha. My Chow Mrs. Bosley turns 12 on Wednesday and she is still going strong. She gets frisky when it is cool out but loves to soak up the sun like Paw Paw makes their joints feel much better.
I visited Glenn Close web site at www.fetchdog.com and read the interview there that you did for her. So cute a fun read. I also commented once I figured out the registry form beautiful photo of you and Pw Paw sitting on the lawn. Absolutely! Enjoyed your humor today on the St. Patty's Day Show Barbara oops I mean Martha!
Love the photos like I told you on Ask Martha Thursday you are a very good photographer as are your "buffer team" who travel with you LOL! Time to watch you on Conan Now it's on soon here.
Happy spring.

Nartha on the show today Monday you mentioned thinking of getting Paw Paw a taller food dish platform.
I bought one for my Chow a few years ago because she has arthritis which began about age 6-7. She loves the food stand as she can reach her food much better and not have to bend down at all or strain to try and stand so long to eat her meal. I measured her body and selected the stand that best fit her height and it has really saved wear and tear on her knees, hind legs and neck from trying to eat down so low to the floor.
I had to buy her a ramp to help her get in and out of the Jeep for groomer and vet visits as well as rides, it really has helped to ease her little body with trying to go up and down stairs. She is 12 now I hope you will get a high feeder for Paw Paw it will save him much wear on his body too. They work great and are easy to keep clean. I have the double dish for food/water and found the color that went with my chow!

Your dogs are soo beautiful! I love dogs, and are thinking of adding a new member to our family, and I'm so charmed by the French Bulldog. I already have two Rottweilers; Hector and Luna, and I was wondering if you think the rase French Bulldog will like living in a home with larger sized dogs? They seem quite robust? We all love mountain hiking, and I'm also wondering if you think the rase would enjoy a bit of that?
Best Regards,
Monica

hi there martha, i just love to see your dogs so happy, and healthy. how have you gotten them to be so happy. how do you have any time to spend with the dogs too, seeing as you're so busy. i love to see dogs fly around like that like the one in your picture. i had a dog a while ago that used to do that too. she was a pecaniese mix and she was my favorite dog of all time. her name was pepper. i miss her. i have a cat, but it's not the same as having a dog. i grew up with dogs all my life, and i miss that. i wish the best for your paw paw. i wish i could pet him. he seems so bushy and soft. how old is he? well, i have to say, that your blogs are the only ones i ever like to read and make notes on. i like to read your letters too. keep up the good work. love ya', linda from hartland mi.
