Networking in the Summer

Maggie Mistal, the career consultant at "Living Today," does a great job of offering advice when it comes to careers and getting a job. Recently, Maggie took some well-deserved time off to journey to Thailand. Here are some photos of her amazing trip.

Sometimes it's good to network when you're traveling. You never know when opportunity knocks! Some tips from Maggie:

  • Always pack your business cards.
  • Study the business etiquette of the country you are visiting (with worldwide business connections you never know where you will find new avenues for your business!)
  • Follow up on your travel/business connections with thank you emails or notes.
  • Set clear parameters with your workplace as to how "accessible" you want to be while on vacation.
  • Take all of your vacation time; Maggie tells us it's a great way to refresh, recharge, and revitalize your approach to work when you return.

What's your favorite vacation? Do you network while relaxing? We'd love to hear from you.

You can hear Maggie Mistal's career advice every Thursday on "Living Today" on Sirius channel 112!

I gave Maggie some advice on Hong Kong before she left and was so pleased to get a sweet note from her when she returned, along with a link to this post! So clearly, she's following her own advice.

Great photos. Nice to see a career coach who takes vacation. Love the tips as well and plan to use them on my next vacation.
