This week, Allen Katz celebrates our new president with politically inspired cocktails that are sure to please both parties!
What did you do on election night? Did you have fun? On the right are Martha's French bulldogs celebrating Election Day. Sharkey is on the left in the "Bark Obama" tee and Francesca is wearing the "McCanine" tee!
The Golden Dawn
3/4 ounces Calvados
3/4 ounces dry gin
3/4 ounces Le Combier triple sec
3/4 ounces apricot brandy
3/4 ounces fresh orange juice
1. Shake ingredients over ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with maraschino cherry.

The Income Tax Cocktail
1 1/2 ounces gin
3/4 ounces dry vermouth
3/4 ounces sweet vermouth
1/4 ounces fresh orange juice
2 dashes Angostura bitters
1. Shake ingredients over ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange twist.
The Millionaire Cocktail
1 1/2 ounces Myer's dark rum
3/4 ounces Sloe gin
3/4 ounces apricot brandy
1/2 ounce lime juice
1. Shake ingredients over ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.
The Scoff Law Cocktail
1 1/2 ounces rye whiskey
1 ounce Dry vermouth
3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
3/4 ounce real grenadine syrup
1. Shake ingredients over ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.
