On Monday, we had motivational speaker Gail Blanke, author of "Throw Out Fifty Things" on Whole Living to help get our week off to a great start. Here are her sound strategies for maintaining a positive outlook and some good energy going.
1. Make an assumption that things will be good. So often, we do the opposite! We assume things will go just lousy from the get-go.
2. Don't make random things real. Sometimes we give too much attention to the bad things that happen, making ourselves believe that it’s part of some horrible, fated plan out to ruin us. Truth is, says Blanke, sometimes bad things just happen -- the layoff, the breakup, the stain on your new white shirt. It doesn’t mean you’re doomed.
3. You are what you think about. Or, what you appreciate, appreciates. If you fill up your head with stories that keep telling you that life doesn’t go your way, that’s what you’ll probably experience. Start putting the positives in your line of sight.
4. Give what you need most. Wish you got more respect? Love? Attention? Start giving it to the people around you. It may have a funny way of coming right back at you.

WHAT GETS YOU MOTIVATED? WE WANT TO KNOW
Thanks to those of you who called in with your motivational mottos. Keep them coming! Email them to us and we’ll post them or share them on the air! Here are some recent quotes that you shared with us:
"Carpe diem, babe." - Sheila, a trucker from Canada
"When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change." - A listener uses the wise words of Wayne Dyer to keep her going
"If you feel blue, try on a different color." - a listener shared this with us, based on a card she saw made by a child
And here’s mine, which I have taped to my bathroom cabinet. It’s a little long but I love it:
“People are always blaming circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get ahead in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can’t find them, make them.” - George Bernard Shaw

On early Friday morning (before 8 am) there was a guest on your show talking about metabolism. She is a nutritionist and she mentioned a book and her website and how to fix your metabolism in 8 weeks. Do you have that information, I can't find it on your website?
Thanks!
