Today we talked about herbs and spices and how much they can bring to the table, in terms of flavor. As a little example, I drained Greek yogurt overnight so it would get even thicker than usual. I stirred some herbs; rosemary, thyme, and lavender and coarse salt into one half. Into the other half of yogurt, I stirred some spices; cumin, coriander, black pepper, added a little coarse salt and topped it with Aleppo pepper for a little color. It was an interesting experiment with Monty (producer of "Everyday Food") and Shavon (engineer for the show) tasting things entirely differently. Served with tomato wedges, cucumber, carrots, and whole wheat pita; it made for a tasty snack!
