I just got back from accompanying Jessica, our Today show bride, on an appointment with a Today show stylist--she's going to look gorgeous! Jessica had mixed feelings about what to go with, as most brides-to-be do: If you wear your hair down, it might get messy or frizzy (just think of all the dancing!); if you wear it in an updo, it might seem unnatural or come undone. Of course, you could wear it half up and half down. The answer is different for every bride. My only rule is, you should feel comfortable and look like yourself, just a little more polished. To make sure you get exactly what you want on your wedding day, do your homework beforehand. You, too, should arrange for a trial run with the person who will style your hair for your wedding. Bring pictures from magazines for inspiration (I brought the book Audrey Style, which I adore, to Jess’s appointment), but don’t be afraid to stray from your initial vision. If you’re not happy, let your stylist know as she works. (Don’t wait until the “ta da!” moment and burst into tears!) Keep your hair styled after your trial run and check a mirror after six or seven hours; if your ’do can’t last through your day-to-day tasks, it’s not going to last through your wedding.

Has the Today show been dressing Jess and Cody during this whole adventure, too?! All their outfits have been so cute during this entire process...maybe it's just the NYC influence :)
