Tipping Point

Here's something you may not know when it comes to giving gratuities to hairstylists and makeup artists on the day of your wedding: You can generally tip as you would for a regular appointment (about 15-20 percent), but if the makeup artist or hairstylist owns her own business, you can forego tipping altogether—even if they make a house call. The same goes for photographers, videographers, and florists.  If you feel a vendor was extraordinary, feel free to give a 10 percent tip, or send a print (taken by your photographer) of him or her in action on your wedding day along with a thank-you note. And, of course, an enthusiastic recommendation is always appreciated!
