Posted by Alexis Givens This very dapper bird that I snapped a pic of in Colorado is just the perfect little mascot for the color palette of the day. What you can't see in the photo is that many of his feathers were a beautiful iridescent blue. If anyone knows what kind of bird he is, please let me know. Standing in the cool snow actually sounds quite refreshing right now. Perhaps that is why I was drawn to this palette today...it is a little toasty in NYC today. Is a winter wedding in my future?

It looks like a magpie to me! :)

It most certainly does! Thank you, I don't think I had ever seen a magpie until I went on vacation to Colorado. Such spiffy birds. I think mine is much more handsome than the one on wikipedia!

And...thanks to wikipedia (and Mari), I learned that they are symbols of good luck in China and Korea. I knew there was a reason I had to take his picture.

I have to agree, they're good looking birds! I lived in the UK for a little while, and used to see the little guys everywhere in parks. Their blue feathers are so lovely!
