Posted by Alexis GivensI just found the Bird and Banner site via Design Sponge (fabulous blog - a daily, if not hourly read for me.)
They make the most adorable custom stationery and I am completely taken with this lobster bib save the date.
I love the idea of sending something unexpected as a save the date. Something that goes beyond the typical magnet or card. Once I figure out the where and when of my wedding, I'll have to be really creative about what kind to send. Has anyone sent you a really great save the date that made you smile?

So cute and fun! And thanks for the find with Design Sponge--what a cool blog!

One of my favorite save the dates that we sent was a single flip flop (beach wedding), with the info written right on the shoe.

On a shoe...now that is really unexpected. What a fun idea!

My fiance and I are sending out 2 bar coasters to each guest as a nod to our first blind date at a sweet little bar/restaurant.
On the one side it has our save-the-date info and the design taken from our formal invitations, and then on the back is the short story of our first date.

Lilah Paper (www.lilahpaper.com) did our save the dates and I am still getting comments about them over a year later! My husband and I got married in Vail, CO and they created a beautiful letterpressed "lift ticket" save the date with actual ski lift wickets! So cute!! Check them out on their website.
