Sweets from the Kate's Event

We are all about wedding cakes and sweets here at Martha Stewart Weddings. Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken, New Jersey provided amazing desserts for the Kate's Paperie event and they brought this gorgeous chartreuse and pink cake.

I had the chance to get their thoughts on what a bride should keep in mind when choosing a wedding cake:

"Come with ideas of what you want. It is especially helpful if you bring swatches of fabric or wallpaper you love. Have an idea about what you want your color palette to be as the cakes and desserts can make a great addition to your overall color scheme."

matching details are really cute, like if you match your bouquet to your cake. I would love to do edible flowers on my cake...in marzipan maybe? what do you guys think about that idea?
