After conducting an informal poll of our edit department — which is admittedly, like, three people but that's beside the point — I've found that males are practically useless when it comes to travel planning. (Please chime in if your experience refutes these findings!) This means the burden of planning a honeymoon that's equal parts exciting, inspiring, relaxing, and unforgettable rests squarely on your shoulders.
My guess is this is the case because we women are clearly the superior sex, capable of pulling information from an alarming number of first-hand accounts, magazine articles, websites, books, stores, and everything else under the sun and organizing it into a coherent itinerary. Also, we talk. Really talk. To each other.
But we could use a hand sometimes. If you're a little overwhelmed about planning your trip, you should definitely consult Girls' Guide To the World, a website that has compiled information on the coolest locations across the globe (hello, Reykjavik!), including where to stay, eat, shop, and pamper yourself. After all, we need all the help we can get!
How did you decide on a honeymoon destination (and what is it)? Did you look to magazines or travel guides? And how did you come up with the itinerary? Did your soon-to-be husband help?
