Now that the Pop Up Wedding is over (and I finally have a chance to breathe!), I can tell you about the rest of the highlights from Engage '09. Though this was a wedding industry summit—and not an actual wedding—certain elements here still apply when it comes to planning your wedding. The event was organized by Rebecca Grinnals and Kathryn Arce, and they did an unbelievable job! Every detail was perfectly orchestrated, from our arrival at the airport to the most thoughtful welcome basket in our room. The lush scenery didn't hurt either!
Rebecca gathered the most amazing industry experts to come together for this event to make it friendly, informative, and timely. I know I already mentioned Preston Bailey, Sylvia Weinstock, Michelle Rago, Randy Fenaroli, Kym Bichon from the Breakers, photographer Thayer Allyson Gowdy, and Marcy Blum, but Korri McFann Spola from Disney Weddings, Abby Larson, Bee Kim, and Harmony Walton also joined us. It's so nice to spend time with people you adore who are so great at what they do!
And by the way, Rebecca created the BEST little program book (sort of like a passport meets facebook). Everyone there was listed with some information about him or her and a small photo—a cute idea to highlight your bridal party in your ceremony program, or your guests at a small destination wedding to help everyone bond.
