Here’s the thing, though. Matte lips require a perfectly smooth, seriously hydrated pout—otherwise, the lipstick will settle into cracks and flakes and highlight the bad, not the good. A week before your wedding, start exfoliating your lips every other night before bed. Use either a baby toothbrush (you can get one at any drugstore) or a washcloth. Using warm water, scrub your mouth gently for about 30 seconds to remove any dead skin, then apply a moisturizing lip balm (I like to dab on Aquaphor’s healing ointment). By the big day, your lips will be ready for their close-up.





You forgot the most imortant part - drink tons of water to hydrate and plump lips from the inside.
